Pertento runs on Shopify as a single script tag in the theme’s layout file, which means it covers every storefront page at once rather than being installed page by page. Variants are built by pointing at elements on the live storefront, so a merchandiser can change copy, imagery and layout on a product or collection template without a theme deploy. Where a change belongs in the backend, such as a different sort order from an API or a pricing rule, the SDK handles it as a server-side test instead.

How it connects

  • Paste the tag into the theme layout, above analytics and above any tag manager.
  • Open the storefront with the Chrome extension and build the variant against the live page.
  • Send exposure events onward to GA4 or your own endpoint so orders can be segmented by variant.
