Pertento for WooCommerce

One tag in the WordPress header hooks every WooCommerce template, so product, cart and checkout pages are testable without a plugin.

WooCommerce is WordPress, so Pertento installs the same way: one script tag in the header of the theme, output as high in the head as the template allows. That single placement covers the shop, the product templates, the cart and the checkout. There is no Pertento plugin to keep updated and nothing that runs inside PHP, which is deliberate. A plugin that renders variants server-side would have to be kept in step with every theme and every caching layer in front of it.

How it connects

  • Add the tag to the theme header, or to the header snippet of whichever theme framework you use.
  • Confirm the page cache is not stripping the tag from a cached response.
  • Build variants against the live templates and target by URL pattern rather than by post ID.
