Pertento installs on WordPress as a script tag in the theme header, which covers everything the theme renders: posts, pages, archives and anything a page builder assembles at render time. Because variants are applied in the browser against the rendered output, it does not matter which builder produced the markup. What does matter is caching: the tag must survive into the cached response, and it must not be deferred by an optimisation plugin.
How it connects
- Add the tag to the theme header, or through a header-snippet field if the theme offers one.
- Exclude the tag from any script-deferring or combining optimisation.
- Check a cached page as a logged-out visitor before assuming it is installed.
