The GA4 destination sends an exposure event for this visitor, this experiment and this variant into the property you already report from. Nothing else moves: Pertento does not read your GA4 data and does not need to. What you get is the ability to segment your existing funnels and revenue reports by variant, which is how a result gets explained to somebody who has never opened the console. Expect small discrepancies between the two systems; they de-duplicate and attribute differently.
How it connects
- Turn on the GA4 destination for the website and give it the measurement ID.
- Choose whether exposures are sent on assignment only or on every qualifying page view.
- Build the comparison in GA4 on the experiment and variant parameters.
