Pertento for Slack

Alerts in the channel that already carries the programme: started, stopped, reached significance, or measurement broken.

The Slack integration delivers the alerts the console raises: an experiment reaching significance, a sample-ratio mismatch, a collision between two running experiments, a scheduled start that did not fire. Delivery is per event and per person, so the channel carries the history of the programme without anybody writing it down, while the alarms that mean something is broken can be routed to the people who would actually act on them.

How it connects

  • Authorise Pertento for the workspace and pick the channel each event should reach.
  • Set the per-event preferences: broken measurement and waiting-on-a-decision want different treatment.
  • Leave low-value events off. An alert stream that is muted is worse than no alert stream.
