Page-view and delay triggers
The two simplest ways to ask: as soon as the page is there, or once somebody has been on it long enough to have an opinion.
A page-view trigger shows the survey as soon as the page is ready. It is the bluntest option and the right one when the page itself is the event, a confirmation screen being the obvious case, where anybody who reached it has already done the thing you are asking about.
A delay trigger waits a number of seconds first. It is the better default for almost everything else, because somebody who has just arrived has no opinion yet and asking immediately produces either a dismissal or an answer about nothing.
The delay is configurable up to ten minutes, and the useful range is far shorter than that. The builder starts at ten seconds, which is long enough to have looked at the page and short enough to still be there.
Both are dwell-based rather than behavioural, which makes them predictable. When you want the survey tied to what somebody did rather than how long they stayed, the scroll, exit-intent and event triggers cover that.
