AI assistants and MCP: FAQ

Which assistants work with Pertento?

Any app that supports remote MCP servers. Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT are the ones we have checked and mark as verified. There is also a guide for Connecting Lovable, and for anything else, see Connecting another MCP client.

Does it cost extra?

No. It is included on every plan. An account without an active plan can still connect and read, but not make changes.

Can an assistant change a running test?

No. Assistants only edit Draft and QA experiments, and Draft surveys. To change a running one, the assistant duplicates it to a new draft, or a person makes the change.

Will it make live changes without asking me?

It can only do what the scopes you chose allow. Anything that changes what visitors see is previewed first and has to be confirmed. Whether your assistant asks you before it confirms is set in your assistant's app. If you only want it to read and build, leave out Start and stop experiments, Deploy winners, Start and stop surveys and Publish websites when you connect. Is my data sent to the AI provider?

Only what the assistant reads through the scopes and websites you allowed. That goes to the company that runs your assistant, under its terms. Open-text survey answers can contain whatever visitors typed, so connect apps you trust with your results and responses.

Does Pertento load my website?

No. An assistant that makes visual changes looks at your page with its own browser tools.

Sign-in says "Couldn't discover OAuth settings"

The address is wrong. It must be exactly https://app.pertento.ai/mcp. Addresses such as pertento.ai/mcp or backend.pertento.ai/mcp do not work for sign-in.

The consent screen says "Unverified app"

The app is not one we have checked. That is expected for most apps outside Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT. Check the web address the screen shows for the app before you click Allow.

My assistant says it can only change Draft or QA experiments

That is the rule working. Ask it to duplicate the experiment to a new draft and change that.

My assistant says "Changed since the preview"

Something changed after the preview was made, so nothing happened. Ask it to preview the action again.

Can an agency use one connection for several clients?

Yes. A token or connection can reach every website you work on, across accounts, or only the websites you pick.
