Using Pertento from an AI assistant
Connect Claude, ChatGPT or any other app that supports MCP to Pertento, and let it read your results and build and run experiments for you.

Pertento has an MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that AI assistants use to work in other tools. Once you connect an assistant, you can ask it about your experiments in plain words, and it can build and run them for you.
It is not tied to one assistant. Any app that supports remote MCP servers can connect: an AI chat, a coding assistant, an editor or your own agent. Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT are the apps we have checked step by step, so each has its own guide, but they are not the only ones that work.
Connect your assistant
The server address is the same for every app:
https://app.pertento.ai/mcp
Use it exactly as written. pertento.ai/mcp and backend.pertento.ai/mcp do not work for sign-in.
- Connecting Claude, in claude.ai and the Claude desktop app
- Connecting Claude Code, in your terminal
- Connecting ChatGPT
- Connecting Lovable, while you build your app
- Connecting another MCP client, for any other app
What an assistant can do
- Read experiments and their results, surveys and their responses, and learnings.
- Build draft experiments and surveys, with their variants, weights, targeting and goals.
- Make visual changes: text, styles, images, links, hiding and moving elements, the way the visual editor does. See Visual changes made by an assistant.
- Preview an experiment on your live site with QA before anyone else sees it. See Checking a variant on your live site with QA.
- Run experiments and surveys: start, schedule, end and archive them, deploy a winner, and publish a website.
What keeps it in check
- It can only do what you can do yourself, narrowed to the scopes and websites you choose when you connect. See Scopes and websites for an AI assistant.
- It only edits drafts. A running experiment or survey stays as it is: to change one, the assistant duplicates it to a new draft.
- Anything that changes what visitors see is previewed first and has to be confirmed. See How an assistant makes live changes safely.
- You are notified when your assistant starts, ends or deploys something, and the activity log marks it "via agent".
- You can disconnect an app or revoke a token at any time. See Managing tokens and connected apps.
Who can use it
Everyone, on every plan, at no extra cost. An account without an active plan can connect and read, but not make changes. A Member can only give an assistant read access, because the Member role is read only.
