Your Account and Organization Settings

Learn what lives in your own account settings versus your organization settings, and how to secure your login.

Pertento separates settings that are yours from settings that belong to the organisation. The distinction is worth knowing before you go looking for something: changing your own password affects only you, while renaming the company affects what everyone sees.

Account settings — yours alone

Under Settings → Account you manage your own login and profile.

Changing your password. You confirm your current password before setting a new one. Use a password manager and a password unique to Pertento.

Passkeys. A passkey lets you sign in with your device instead of typing a password, and it is the stronger option: there is nothing to phish and nothing to reuse. You can register a passkey and then test that it works before relying on it — worth doing, rather than discovering a problem the next time you sign in. See the dedicated article on setting up passkeys.

Organization settings — shared

Under Settings → General you manage details that belong to the organisation as a whole, including the company name and company size. The company name appears throughout the interface and in account selectors, so use the name your team actually uses.

These are shared settings. Changing them changes what every colleague sees.

Where other settings live

A few things people look for here are elsewhere, scoped to what they affect:

  • Currency, conversion event and tracking method are per website, in that website’s settings.
  • Which events are recorded is per website.
  • Team members and roles are under Organization Team, or Agency Team for agency staff.
  • Client organisations are on the Clients page, for agency accounts.

Notes

  • Account settings affect only you. Organization settings affect everyone.
  • Register a passkey and test it before you need it.
  • If you cannot see a setting described here, your role may not permit it. An Admin or Owner in your organisation can help.
