Previewing a variant on another device

Share a link that shows a variant's saved changes on any phone or browser, and a second link that puts that browser back to normal.

The editor's device previews show a variant at desktop, tablet and phone sizes inside the editor. To see it on a real phone, or in a browser other than Chrome, use Preview on another device in the editor's top bar.

Getting the link

  1. 1Open the variant in the editor and save your changes.
  2. 2Click Preview on another device in the top bar.
  3. 3Copy the link with the copy button, and open it on the phone or browser you want to check.

That browser now shows the variant. A second link puts that browser back to normal, so it sees the site the way any visitor would.

What the link shows

  • The variant's saved changes. Unsaved edits in the editor are not included, so save first.
  • The variant only appears while the experiment is running on that page.
  • Sign-in tokens and other pertento… parameters are always removed from the link, so it is safe to share with a colleague or a client.
