What is sent to our AI provider

When learnings are on for a website, each finished test's content is sent to our AI provider to write its learning:

  • the changes each variant makes, and its code;
  • screenshots of the variants, if Read screenshots is on;
  • the hypothesis, description, expected mechanisms and targeting;
  • the debrief's lesson, explanation and any note on outside factors. The team's expectation and next step are not sent.

The result is described in words, as a direction. The AI does not need the figures, because it never produces one.

Ask about your learnings sends your question, the words on the Learnings page, and the results of the tests it reads.

This is covered by the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy. Turning learnings off stops anything new from being sent.

What is kept

  • Learnings are kept with the website. Turning learnings off keeps them, and deleting a test deletes its learning.
  • The Ask conversation is kept for 12 months, and everyone who can see the website's learnings can read it.

Learnings stay with the website

Learnings never shows one website's tests on another website, or to another customer. For an agency, each client's learnings stay separate.

Anonymised data

Under section 28 of the Terms and Conditions, Pertento may use aggregated, anonymised data to develop its own models and the recommendation features offered to all customers, unless you opt out. For learnings, that covers the labels, the learning sentence, the outcome and the ranges. It never covers your content, code, screenshots, hypotheses, URLs or debrief text.

You can opt out at two levels:

  • The whole account, in the account settings.
  • One website, in the website's settings.

A website is included only when both settings allow it. Only the account that owns the website can change either one, so an agency cannot change it for a client. Opting out changes nothing in how Learnings works for you.
