Starting a Trial and Changing Your Plan

Learn how the 12-day free trial works, how to choose a plan at checkout, and when an upgrade or a downgrade takes effect.

Plans are chosen and changed in Settings then Billing, in the Plans panel. Only an account's Owners and Admins can change its plan. Members can see the billing page but not change anything on it.

The free trial

Your first plan starts with a 12-day free trial. You add a payment method at checkout, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Pertento reminds you before it does. If you have not cancelled by the end of day 12, the plan starts and the first payment is taken.

There is one trial per customer. An agency's own agency fee also starts with a trial, but the plans it buys for its client accounts do not.

During a trial, the Plan panel shows the date of the first charge, and a banner across the console shows how many trial days are left.

Choosing a plan

Pick Monthly or Yearly · save 20%, then choose a plan card. Before you confirm, a Your change summary shows what happens and when. The button names the action: Start 12-day free trial for a first plan, then you add your card on the next step.

Checkout is handled by Polar, our payment provider. You can pay by credit or debit card, or with Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them. When you return, the page confirms that your subscription is active; it can take a minute to appear.

Changing plan

  • During the trial: the new plan applies straight away, the trial continues, and nothing is charged.
  • Upgrading to a larger plan: applies straight away. The difference for the rest of the current period is charged to your card. If that charge fails, you stay on your current plan.
  • Downgrading to a smaller plan: applies at the start of your next period. Nothing is refunded for the time left on the current plan.

A scheduled change shows on the plan cards as Next period, and you can cancel it before it happens.

Moving from monthly to yearly billing on the same plan counts as an upgrade, and applies straight away.
